PROGRAM NOTES

I had the pleasure of meeting Carol Daggs last year at ther SCI region 2 conference in Hamilton NY. Carol performed with her ensemble a wonderful modern jazz number entitled "Actions Speak Louder than Words". In conversing with her during the conference, I discovered she was a quite genuine and turned-on Christian, and I asked her if she would share a work of hers with us on our CFAMC Listening Page. Carol chose "Loveable" from her album unveiled. In it's clear and easy-going 3/4 manner, "Loveable" comes across as a subtle love song to Jesus. -BILL VOLLINGER

FAITH STATEMENT BY THE COMPOSER

sankofa

The African Adinkra symbol above represent the concept of Sankofa, which means that we may rectify our mistakes and learn from the past while yet moving forward.   “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth”. Psalm 34:1

With the world in such a major state of chaos and turmoil, it is often difficult to stay in forward motion without feeling discouraged. -Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it”. (Psalm 34:14). “Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”. (Lamentations 3:22-23). This year has been a continued journey of learning that beyond what I can and try to do for myself; GOD truly has HIS time to reveal the blessings HE has for us. It is not about what we want when we want it, but GOD still has a divine purpose, design and direction for each of us. “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. I Thessalonians 5:16-18

So often life brings major challenges, trials and tribulations. Sometimes 'going through' may seem impossible and unbearable. The beauty in having soul salvation in JESUS CHRIST, is knowing that all things are possible. We are always totally possible for the abundance of blessed everything that GOD promises. We always have a new opportunity to be the best we can in and through Christ, and that is a blessed assurance beyond anything else I know.
